Kew was Under-impressive.

We ventured to Kew Gardens today, one of the world's largest botanical gardens. Basically, whenever the royal family recieves a gift (that is a plant) from another country on an official visit they put it in this giant park. I was expecting it to be absolutely gorgeous. It was a really nice park, but just got breathtaking. I took a bunch of photos of course. There was several glass greenhouses with plants from all over the world. I saw this palm tree that was over 300 years old! Not the species, but the actual tree. Crazy!  We also did this tree walk. We were walking among the treetops. It was pretty because a lot of the trees have already started to change. I had never done anything like that before.

We ate dinner at a local pub near Oxford Circus. That was one of the top two meals I have had here. It was a fajita chicken salad, but nothing like in America. It was so flavorful unlike a lot of other food here. Everything tastes so bland compared to home. Quite a delicious meal!

We walked around a bookstore. I sat and browsed a book about cities in the UK to visit. When I was reading, this gentlemen from Italy came up, introduced himself and asked where I was planning to go. He has been living in London for 4 years and only traveled on one other city! He said he loves being in the city because you keep discovering new things to do. That is absolutely true!

The internship is getting so much better. The interns went to a meeting about 2012 Games and that was very exciting! You can see the constuction from our office window. Apparently, we have an executive suite near the facility we take our clients too. It sounds like I will get the opportunity to check it out. That would be phenomenal. Monday there is supposedly going to be a tube strike. I am NOT looking forward to that. It takes about an hour to get to work on the tube. The tube is much faster than the bus. I'm going to have to give myself over 2 hours to get to the office. That is going to be ridiculous.  It's all part of the incredible experience so I'm not complaining!

  1. .......Sorry Lauren, I didn't notice your October entries untill after I posted my remarks about not hearing from you for this month. I really enjoy re-living my time in London through your eyes. When you keep saying things like,"I can't believe I'm living here", I remember feeling exactly like that myself. Like the time we went to Cambridge University and stepped through a doorway that had a head stone dated to 1075!! 400 years before America was even discovered. Keep up the great blogs cause read every word, ciao Denny
